St. Louis joins the nation to celebrate National Dance Week from April 23- May 2, 2010. National Dance Week captures everyone's secret desire to be a great dancer. When dance innovators Capezio and Dance Magazine launched the grass-roots event several years ago to bring dance to America's doorstep, St. Louis signed on as a staunch supporter. On April 24, the St. Louis Dance Community struts its spirited stuff with performances by professional, university and dance studio companies. The public is invited, free of charge, to view ballet, jazz, tap and modern disciplines, as well as folk and drill teams. There will be a guest performance by National Dance Week honorary dance company Slaughter Project . With the mission to heighten awareness of dance and its cultural contributions, National Dance Week has achieved congressional support through the aid of the United Dance Merchants of America. St. Louis sponsors Weissman's Dance Solutions, Kyvon,, Kristi Foster Photography, MAK Printing, CAM Printing, and Audioactive Projects Corporation join patrons Union Station, Edison Theatre and Dr. Bill Russell to present the annual extravaganza. |
